Environmental and energy management

We take a systematic approach to environmental protection and energy management.

The environmental policy of thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe GmbH is based on the charter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and guarantees environmentally friendly and resource-saving systems and processes.

Steel has a high degree of excellent recycling properties and can be returned to the material cycle almost 100%. In this context, we increasingly offer our customers sustainable services in the area of scrap disposal and pallet return to further conserve resources.

All our production processes are evaluated according to environmental and energy aspects in line with the material flow and are regularly reviewed to identify potential for improvement. We systematically record energy types and consumption in order to continuously optimise energy efficiency at our sites. Last but not least, our continuous improvement circles make an important contribution to this.

In order to systematically anchor sustainability in our processes, we have introduced environmental and energy management systems. At thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe GmbH, for example, we are certified according to the internationally applicable standards for the environment DIN EN ISO 14001 and energy DIN EN ISO 50001.

This means that we regularly undergo internal and external audits of the standards required by these norms and assume responsibility for the best possible use of resources.
