Terms such as CO2-reduced materials, emission proof, and decarbonization are used more frequently in our corporate communications. This glossary provides an overview of our key sustainability terms and their meanings. It is intended to help you interpret statements accurately and foster a shared understanding.
This refers to the offering of materials with direct and balance-sheet-based reductions, tailored to individual customer requirements, through a selection of different suppliers.
By sharing PCF data within the supply chain, we create transparency for our customers (learn more about your emissions data here).
Through our independently verified PCF calculation, you can use our Emission Proof to obtain your customized Product Carbon Footprint value - either for a desired time period or individually for each batch delivered to you.
tk accelis Processing Europe GmbH is currently undergoing a recertification process to verify the underlying calculation methodology, which was already verified in 2022.
Scope 1 Emissions are emitted directly by us (e.g. burning gas to heat production facilities)
Scope 2 Emissions are emitted indirectly by us (e.g. electricity purchased to operate the slitting lines)
Scope 3 Emissions result from upstream and downstream activities in the value chain
Upstream: Material production at the mill and delivery to our plants, use of auxiliary materials and consumables, packaging, waste
Downstream: Delivery to the customer’s plant gate
