DD11 - DD14
The soft unalloyed deep-drawing steels of the hot-rolled DD grade family according to DIN EN 10111 offer excellent forming properties and good aging resistance. The mechanical properties of the individual deep-drawing steel grades are characterized by the level of yield strength and tensile strength as well as by assured minimum values of elongation at break.
Premium grades are guaranteed narrower property windows in terms of mechanical and chemical properties as well as higher elongation at break values and lower strengths.
In addition to hot-rolled DD grades, a wide range of deep-drawing steels is offered, such as cold-rolled uncoated DC grades to DIN EN10130, hot-dip coated DX grades to DIN EN 10346 and electrolytically galvanized DC grades to DIN EN 10152 for generally higher requirements.
The requirements for which deep-drawing steels can be used, either as hot-rolled or cold-rolled flat products, must be considered on a project-specific basis and depend on the desired plate thickness, the surface finish, the type of surface finishing and the desired dimensional tolerances.
Due to their excellent forming properties, DD grades are suitable for the production of components that are demanding in terms of forming technology, such as pressed, stamped and drawn parts, wheels or even agricultural equipment and shelving systems.
