The deep-drawing steels of the DC grade family according to DIN EN 10130 (uncoated) or DIN EN 10152 (electrolytically galvanised) offer excellent forming properties and good ageing resistance. The mechanical properties of the individual deep-drawing steel grades are characterised by the level of yield strength and tensile strength as well as by assured minimum values of elongation at break.
In the case of premium grades, the forming properties are additionally described by assured minimum values for the vertical anisotropy (r-value) and the strain hardening exponent (n-value), and narrower property windows are guaranteed.
In addition to DC grades, a wide range of deep-drawing steels is offered, such as hot-dip coated DX grades according to DIN EN 10346 and hot-rolled, uncoated DD grades according to DIN EN 10111.
The requirements for which deep-drawing steels can be used as either hot-rolled or cold-rolled flat products must be considered on a project-specific basis and depend on the desired sheet thickness, the surface finish, the type of surface finishing and the desired dimensional tolerances.
